AiKiDo the Ultimate Self Defense Martial Art in Arlington , TX

The instructor ( Sensei - Japanese for teacher ) is Sassan Badrzadeh, a 3rd degree black belt from Shinkikan Aikido in Houston, TX. The head instructor / Sensei at  Shinkikan Aikido / Erik Calderon' Martial Arts program is Erik S. Calderon Sensei who trained in Japan with Hiroshi Kato Sensei, a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba ( Founder of Aikido ).
I started the Arlington AiKiDo program as Shinkikan Arlington Aikido in February 2009 when I moved back to Arlington from Houston. I believe I was fortunate to learn from and train with Sensei  Erik S. Calderon whom I consider to be a devoted Aikido practitioner who has learned from one of the best in Aikido and that is Kato Sensei.
I still continue to learn and train with Sensei Erik when possible and learn from his insights.  I also attended  many seminars which were taught by Kato Sensei while in Houston. I have done my undergraduate and graduate studies in Physics, Mathematics and experimental physics. I believe in lifetime  learning and improving oneself in all aspects of  life spent in harmony with nature and others.

I teach Aikdo, because of my interest in teaching, philosophy of Aikido , traditional Budo, believing that real Aikido is a very powerful self defense martial arts against one or more attackers ( yes more than one attacker ... )  and being able to train with my students, improving and learning from them also. I believe in traditional way of martial arts and not the commercial aspect of making money. I do not earn my living teaching Aikido and my objective is to teach a selective few who want to be the best in Aikido.

This website is not for persuading anybody to join my program, but for information on Arlington Aikido program and those ( children or adults  ) who are committed and want to make a genuine attempt in learning Aikido .   I understand that there are many programs to choose from and I do have the highest respect for all other martial arts, I have been a student of few.

My teaching emphasis is on principals of Aikido, however I also teach the basics on striking skills of Tang Soo Do and  boxing. I believe to defend oneself against a punch or kick, one must know the striking skills of other arts.

In  addition to Aikido, Sensei Sassan has trained in several other arts including TangSooDo for 6 years, Ninjutsu for 1yr and few others.
